Buying a Domain and Linking It with a Blogger Blog | Blogging for Profit Course

How can I use my domain with my Blogger account?

To link your domain to your blog, you need to follow a few simple steps:
  • Step 1 : After purchasing the domain from Namecheap, log in to your Blogger account, then go to Settings. You will find an option called "Custom Domain" – click on it.

  • Step 2 : A window will open. Add the domain you previously purchased from Namecheap, including www before the domain, so it appears as follows:

Step 3 :Set up your domain in your Blogger account as outlined here in step 2: Connect a domain not associated with Google from Blogger.

Step 4 : Once the domain is added, you will receive two CNAME records that you need to configure along with A records in your Namecheap account:
  • Log in to your Namecheap account.

  • Select the Domain List from the right navigation bar and click the Manage button next to your domain name:

  • Click the Advanced DNS tab and look for the Host Records section, then click the Add New Record button (Unable to edit Host Records?):

Here you will need to create 6 records for your domain:

  • A records pointing to @

    216.239.32.21 216.239.34.21 216.239.36.21 216.239.38.21

  • CNAME for www pointing to ghs.google.com

  • CNAME with the values provided in your Blogger account

Step 5 : Once all details are entered, save them using the green "Save Changes" button.

It may take up to 30 minutes for the newly created host records to take effect.

Once the settings are active, repeat step 1: Set up your domain in Blogger and follow step 3 (optional): Redirect from a non-subdomain URL to your blog's URL as outlined in this guide.
